Representatives of Food for the Poor Inc met with the Ministry of Health in May 2022, and a request was made for FFTP to visit the National Psychiatric Hospital.
The team visited, and the institution’s needs were raised. FFTP (Guy) Inc assured its commitment to working with the institution to ensure that the essential needs of the hospital, patients, and staff are met.
One of the major needs of the Psychiatric Hospital was specialized beds suitable for the institution. FFTP (Guy) Inc donated 100 beds and 100 mattresses, and other items to Dr. Vasahal Sharma – Regional Health Officer for Region #6 (East Berbice Corentyne). Dr. Sharma stated she is very excited to be the beneficiary of the donation, she further expressed her sincere gratitude to FFTP (Guy) Inc for fulfilling their commitment to the National Psychiatric Hospital. She further stated that the Psychiatric Hospital would be the primary focus of the donation, but the other hospitals and regional centres within the region will benefit from this valuable donation.
FFTP (Guy) Inc continues to be committed to the health sector and the citizens of Guyana.
