Distribution to the Hinterland

In keeping with its 2024-2027 strategic plan, the GIK department and by extension FFTP Guyana has expanded its operations to the Hinterland; and during the first quarter of this year, several communities and organisations benefitted tremendously from the organisation.

As FFTP aims to improve the lives of the most vulnerable in our communities, nine hundred (900) families across eighteen (18) communities in region 1 and four hundred and thirty-five (435) families from four (4) communities in region 7 were assisted with food relief and personal care items.

Items distributed to both regions included; Manna Pack Rice, Mackerel, Oil, Cornmeal, Pasta, Rice, Tinned Fruits, Beans (Lentils, Red Kidney Beans, Black Beans), Mixed Vegetables, Flour, Assorted Canned Food, Diapers, Tarpaulins, Adult & Children Clothing and Johnson’s Shampoo.

Through networking, FFTP has collaborated with Project New Nation, an NGO located in Byderabo Village, Region 7 to assist with its community development and capacity building projects. Sewing Machines and thread, Computer Kits, and food supplies were donated to the Learning Literacy Programme, SheShines, and Livelihood Enhancement programmes, all aimed at improving livelihood in the region.
