The Warrau are an indigenous Amerindian people inhabiting northeastern Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, and Suriname. The term “Warrau” translates as “the boat people,” reflecting the Warrau’s deep and enduring relationship with the water. Most Warrau people inhabit the Orinoco Delta region of Venezuela, with smaller populations found in neighboring Guyana.
FFTP (Guy) Inc continues to do needs assessments in regions across Guyana to assist the most vulnerable.
