The Happy Box initiative is a great way for women and girls to decrease stress while increasing self-love and self-worth. This initiative creates a unique sense of happiness in a box for women and girls who have faced many challenges in life especially vulnerable women and girls. This initiative is also in keeping with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5; Achieving Gender Equality and Empower all Women and Girls.
Food For The Poor (Guy) in collaboration with the Regional Democratic Council, Region 10 identified one hundred vulnerable women and girls from four communities in Linden; Victory Valley, Christianburg, Wismar and Kwakwani to receive the Happy Box self-care packages.
This initiative will create awareness and education on the importance of self-care, including self-love, gender equality and hygiene practices. This will aid in raising awareness and provide information on important health and empowerment issues, equipping women and girls with knowledge to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives.
Denise Claxdon from the region expressed heartfelt gratitude to Food for the Poor for the items received.
