In a concerted effort to uplift and empower vulnerable communities, Food For the Poor Guyana Inc. has taken significant strides in supporting women and girls across Regions 7, 8, and 9. With a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of those in need, the organization recently provided 160 personal hygiene kits to women and girls and distributed 200 baby kits to expecting mothers.
The Region 7 distribution benefited women and girls from the communities of 72 Miles, Kangaruma, and the township of Bartica. In Region 8, women and girls from the communities of Princeville, Campbell Town, Muruwa, Tuseng, Turuka, and Bamboo Creek received support,
while in Region 9, the beneficiaries were from the communities of Annai and Nappi. The items were distributed through the various health facilities in the communities.
Recognizing the unique challenges women and girls face in these regions, Food For the Poor (Guyana) Inc. remains dedicated to addressing critical needs and ensuring access to essential resources. The personal hygiene kits serve as a crucial means of promoting health, hygiene, and dignity among women and girls, while the baby kits offer essential supplies to expecting mothers, contributing to the well-being of both mother and child.
