FTP Benevolence Program – Trevon Benjamin

Trevon Benjamin will be undergoing Reconstructive Cleft Lip Repair Surgery at Balwant Singh’s Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2024 under our Benevolence Program.

Trevon is three (3) years old and lives in Winward Island, Manawarin Village, Region 1- Moruca.

Trevon resides under modest condition in this remote village with his mother, father and 5 other siblings. The family does not have access to modern amenities; electricity and potable water. Trevon’s mother is a housewife and his father a farmer.  To date, Trevon is facing challenges with his speech and has never spoken since birth.

Cleft lip and cleft palate are among the most common congenital disabilities. They can cause a wide range of difficulties for children, including difficulty feeding, ear infections and hearing loss, dental issues, speech difficulties, and social, emotional and behavioral problems.

This surgery will improve the quality of Trevon’s life. With the surgery, Trevon will have improved speech and develop physical, heightened socialization with others and more self-confidence.

Our Benevolence Program provides medical assistance to individuals with extreme medical needs and the inability to pay for proper treatment.
