International Literacy Day 2023

This year we celebrate International Literacy Day under the theme “Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies.”

FFTP (Guy) Inc. continues to make an impact in the educational sector through many of our programs such as our Uitvlugt Outdoor Library, our continuous work at Kairuni Nursery School, our Spelling Bee competition, our Literacy Empowerment Assistance Foundation, our Literacy Program at Camal Home and recently the commissioning of Lusignan Library.

FFTP (Guy) Inc. recognizes the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights, and as a way to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.

Across the world, literacy challenges persist with at least 763 million young people and adults lacking basic literacy skills in 2020.

Hence, the impact FFTP(Guy) Inc. is making in Guyana, ties into United Nations Sustainable Development Goal # 4 – “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.”
