World Health Day

Food for the Poor (Guy) Inc. stands in solidarity with individuals worldwide, advocating for the fundamental right to health for all. Under the theme “My Health, My Right,” we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring access to healthcare services and promoting well-being for vulnerable communities in Guyana.

In 2023, we played an instrumental role in our medical donation program across the regions. We provided medical supplies and equipment, which enhanced the region’s services offered to its residents, particularly in the areas of extended home-based care and medical outreaches.

Health facilities and individuals benefited from mattresses, crutches, wheelchairs, bed sheets, pillowcases, gowns, scrubs, shoe covers, bath chairs, transport chairs, incontinence products, canes, medical rollators, lab coats, coveralls, vitamins, commodes, walkers, raised toilet seats, mattresses, bed linens, suture removal kits, suture retrievers, sutures, mackintoshes, diapers, gloves, face shields, and a list of essential medications were also donated.

The impact Food for the Poor (Guy) Inc. is making in Guyana ties into United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #3 – “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”

Hence, Food for the Poor (Guy) Inc. will continue its mandate to provide healthcare and emergency relief to the poor and vulnerable in Guyana.
